By using ShyPDF you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The service
ShyPDF provides PDF tools that run in your browser. The service is free and is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Acceptable use
Only process files that you own or are otherwise authorized to process. In particular, you may use the Unlock PDF tool only on documents you own or whose owner has given you permission to remove the protection. Do not use ShyPDF to circumvent protection on someone else’s copyrighted work, to break any law, or to infringe anyone’s rights. Because your files never reach us, we cannot see or check what you process: you are solely responsible for your files and for how you use the results.
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, or to misrepresent it or its output as your own service.
Your files
Your files stay on your device and remain yours. We claim no rights over them. Keep a copy of your original files: a processing error, a browser crash or a forgotten password can make an output unusable, and we have no copy from which to help you recover it.
No warranty
We work to keep the tools accurate and reliable, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the results will be complete, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Do not rely on ShyPDF as the only safeguard for important documents.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShyPDF and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, or affects the rights you have as a consumer.
Intellectual property
The ShyPDF name, design and text belong to its operator. The site is built on open-source software, which remains under its own licenses; see Open-source licenses.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version applies from the date shown above; if you keep using the site after that, you accept it.
